New Feature: Social sharing graphics
Easily share results, start lists, and scores on social media!
We’re happy to announce a new feature for meeting organisers, athletes and fans…
If you copy the link address from any of our individual race results or start lists into FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Whatsapp, or another application supporting Facebook’s Open Graph protocol, we generate a nice image of the top 3 finishers (in FaceBook’s preferred landscape shape).
We also make images in the recommended sizes for Instagram posts and stories, shown below.
Reference documentation is on our Social Cards docs page
Start Lists
Once you have prepared your start lists, grab the images from the top races and get them out on social platforms to create some buzz! Instagram-sized graphics have space for up to 8 starters….here is this weekend’s womens A race from the Cyprus championships…
Individual race results
Click the “share” button, or copy any race URL into Facebook, and you’ll create a story which links back to the results, but also pulls in a sharing graphic!
The same protocol works on many social sites, so you can drop a link into your club Whatsapp group just as easily.
Or, you can just grab the image you want, and drop it into the site of your choice.
Match scores
These really matter, so get them out on social media! Any match scoring table, in progress or finished, has a share icon and a widget to let you choose an image size…
This generates graphics showing who won (or is winning…)
We’ll be doing the same for our Cross Country and Road scoring tables well before the cross country season….
Poster with QR Code
OpenTrack can now generate a nice PDF poster for you to pin up at trackside. Athletes and spectators then just point their phone at it, scan the QR code, and jump immediately to the correct page to follow the action. This poster also has some hints on social media use for the athletes.
Upcoming competitions
Finally, if you go to the main competition index and add `share/` - or add share a country code, as below, you will get a handy card with what’s on soon. We’ll be happy to extend this so you can filter to your league or club…

We welcome feedback and ideas for these. In the meantime, please get them out there and promote your competitions - or your victories! More web traffic means, at the very least, more entries in your next competition, and might translate into sponsorship!
Hi Andy, noting you are using NAL as an example, may we assume NAC Exec ar happy for us to publicise their meetings?
