OpenTrack Launches New Documentation
With a complete revamp and a whole new look, our documentation is ready for its close up
This week, we’re delighted to be unveiling the new-look OpenTrack documentation. With a new look and feel, easier navigation, and updated pages on entries, competition management, and much more, we’re confident you’ll find it even easier to understand and use!

What’s Coming Next?
As part of our mission to make OpenTrack more accessible and easy to use, we’ve put time into making our documentation simpler, clearer, and better illustrated.
Making the Most of a Full Restructure
We’ve taken the opportunity to restructure our documentation to better reflect OpenTrack, and it means that we have split things up to better reflect how the system gets used.
In the new structure we have:
Getting Started - With all the details you’ll need if you’re new to OpenTrack
Entries - For those looking to manage their entries on OpenTrack
Competition Management - All the information on managing a competition on OpenTrack
Federation Management - Documentation for users of OpenTrack’s Federation Management System
Leagues - Specific pages for OpenTrack’s growing stable of leagues
Reference Data - Information to help those looking to understand OpenTrack’s databases, such as for venues or organisations
APIs - Information for developers looking to make use of OpenTrack’s various Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
Latest Documentation
We’re always expanding our documentation, and there’s plenty of new pages (and features) you might not have come across
Together with last week’s communication on FieldLynx integration, we have an accompanying documentation page, with our new Access Codes feature also getting a page of its own (more on that soon).
For those looking to better understand how to practise for their meeting, our test server now has a dedicated docs page, or for those more photofinish-minded, we’re just putting the finishing touches on the feature detailed here (more on that soon too).
What’s Coming Next?
We are always adding to and updating our documentation, as we improve OpenTrack for users, and add new features.
If you’re keen, you can keep an eye out in the coming weeks as we refine our scoring documentation - getting individual or team scores for your match on OpenTrack will never have been easier!
We hope that our documentation will make using OpenTrack a breeze, but we’re always happy to add if you find a gap in your knowledge that isn’t answered by the documentation in its current form!
As always, if you have any feedback, requests, or want help bringing your athletics into the 21st century, feel free to get in touch at info@opentrack.run.
