OpenTrack News: More Winter Improvements
A weekly OpenTrack update featuring records, TimeTronics integration, scoring, and more
With no car parks underwater at our Wimbledon HQ, we’re pleased to report that this week’s OpenTrack newsletter is very much going ahead!
While we can’t say we’re fans of the proposed changes to long jump rules that emerged in the middle of last week, feel free to add to the jeopardy and drama of this newsletter by starting to read at any sentence you fancy.
Records — still aiming higher, faster, further
With the competitors at the World Athletics Indoor Tour Bronze-level Memorial Josip Gasparac in Croatia vaulting their way to a new set of meeting records last week, it’s the perfect opportunity to give you an update on our work on bringing records to the masses!
If you have a meeting with a set of records, you can now display current bests on event pages, with a detailed history also available.
We’re hard at work making it easy to add, manage, and update records yourself, whether they be for a club, country, venue, or competition, so watch this space!
Another week of highs
In addition to vaulting high in Croatia, we’re delighted that the England Masters Athletics Association held their indoor inter-area competition on OpenTrack this past weekend, making seamless use of our TimeTronics photofinish integration and a custom scoring system.
More than half a dozen countries hosted competitions on OpenTrack in the last seven days, we are looking forward to more action next week — we have national indoor, outdoor, road, and cross country championships coming up!
Coming up next…
While we’re excited about our work over the next seven days, we’re afraid it’s not much to write home about in terms of big headline features.
There’s plenty of small improvements in the pipeline as we improve seeding screens, PDF reports and Excel downloads — the small things that make sure your meetings tick over that little bit more smoothly!
If you have meeting records you want to share with the world, or a scoring system that would look great when updating live on OpenTrack, please do let us know.
As always, if you have any feedback, requests, or want help bringing your athletics into the 21st century, feel free to get in touch at info@opentrack.run.
