Even More Added to OpenTrack Documentation
Friendlier first-time user guidance, improved management screen documentation, and more
OpenTrack’s documentation is always in development, but with a whole host of recent improvements, adding new guides and making sure existing ones are clear and concise, we’re delighted to be shining the spotlight once again on the pages that will help you to get the most out of OpenTrack!
In this update:
Helping Out OpenTrack Users
Updated Management Screens Documentation
Plenty of Small Changes
After launching our new-look documentation at the beginning of September, we’ve continued development apace, with the goal of making every OpenTrack feature clear and easy to use.
Highlighted in this update are just a few of the new and heavily improved pages that have been updated since OpenTrack’s documentation revamp, and we hope they make your life easier!
Helping Out OpenTrack Users
Everyone who uses OpenTrack needs an account, and so we’ve improved our documentation on signing up.
In addition, our new documentation on changing personal details and changing an email address should now make it even simpler to administer existing accounts.
Updated Management Screens Documentation
The most important part of OpenTrack is our management screens, used to administer competitions from the smallest schools’ meeting up to international championships.
Since we launched our new-look documentation, the majority of management screens have had at least some improvement!
World Athletics
We’ve added full documentation for our World Athletics integration management screen, recently rolled out to our Federation Management System customers.
If you’d like to use this to simplify interactions with the World Athletics Calendar in your country, just get in touch!
Scoring
The scoring section of our Events and Scoring management screen documentation has also seen recent improvements, as we look to streamline the way competitions are scored on OpenTrack.
If you want to learn more about scoring road and cross country on OpenTrack as we head into winter, take a look at our recent post on the topic!
Plenty of Small Changes
There’s plenty more changes where those came from, though slightly more spread out through OpenTrack’s documentation.
Our manual results input guide has had a touch of TLC, as has the doc for the audit and tools management screen — if you’ve never taken a look, you might find some handy tools to help you set up your next competition!
In addition to all of our latest changes, there’s some stuff which hasn’t changed a bit but is still worth a visit to help you understand OpenTrack — try our documentation on flags, venues, or even access codes if you missed our recent explainer!
We’re happy to add to documentation on request, whether it’s updating something that already exists, or adding something altogether new. If you need something to make life with OpenTrack easier, just ask!
As always, if you have any feedback, requests, or want help bringing your athletics into the 21st century, feel free to get in touch at info@opentrack.run.
